Abstract

In July 2018, Jambi City experienced a deflation of 0.76 percent and Muara Bungo City inflation by 0.12 percent. The Jambi City Consumer Price Index (CPI) is 132.51 and the Muara Bungo City Consumer Price Index (CPI) is recorded at 131.20. Deflation in the City of Jambi occurred in 3 (three) groups of goods and services expenditures due to a decrease in the index, and inflation in Muara Bungo City occurred in 6 (six) groups of goods and services expenditures due to an increase in the index. The calendar year1 inflation rate of Jambi City this month was 1.45 percent, and the year-on-year inflation rate was 3.34 percent. While the inflation rate for Muara Bungo City calendar this month was 1.20 percent and the year-on-year inflation rate was 2.04 percent. Of the 23 cities in Sumatra that calculated CPI, as many as 18 (eighteen) cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Bengkulu City by 0.87 percent and the lowest occurred in Jambi City by 0.76 percent. Of the 82 cities that calculated CPI in Indonesia, 68 (sixty eight) cities experienced inflation. The highest inflation in Sorong City was 1.47 percent and the lowest in Ambon City was 1.45 percent.
