Abstract

The economy of Jambi Province based on the amount of Gross Regional Domestic Product (GRDP) based on current prices in the first quarter of 2020 reached Rp53 703 billion and at the base of constant prices in 2010 reached Rp36 863 billion.

Jambi Province economy in the first quarter of 2020 grew 1.65 percent (y-on-y). From the production side, growth was driven by most business sectors, with the highest growth being achieved by the Information and Communication Business Field which grew 15.16 percent. In terms of expenditure, the highest growth was achieved by the Government Consumption Expenditure Component, which grew by 12.33 percent.
Jambi Province economy in the first quarter of 2020 experienced a contraction of 4.05 percent (q-to-q). In terms of production, the highest growth was in the Information and Communication Business Field at 3.83 percent. While in terms of Expenditures achieved by the Consumption Expenditure Components of Non-Profit Institutions Serving Households which increased significantly by 2.61 percent.
The economic structure of Jambi Province in the first quarter of 2020 was dominated by Agriculture, Forestry, and Fisheries which gave the largest contribution to the GRDP, which amounted to 29.43 percent. Followed by Mining and Quarrying by 16.25 percent. While on the expenditure side, GDP is widely used for the Export Component by 73.53 percent, but it was corrected by Import by 47.5 percent.
