Abstract

In July 2020, Jambi City and Muara Bungo City experienced deflation, respectively by 0.05 percent and 0.34 percent. The Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Jambi City was 103.91 and Muara Bungo City was 104.19.
Deflation in Jambi City occurred in 3 (three) expenditure groups. Whereas in Muara Bungo City, deflation occurred in 4 (four) groups of goods and services expenditure due to a decrease in index.
The inflation rate for calendar year 1 and "year on year" 2 Jambi City this month amounted to 0.83 percent and -0.14 percent, respectively. While the rate of inflation in the calendar year and "year on year" of Muara Bungo City were respectively 0.63 percent and -1.34 percent in July 2020.
Of the 24 cities in Sumatra that calculate CPI, a total of 5 (five) cities experience inflation and 19 (nineteen) cities deflation. The highest inflation in Sumatra occurred in Tanjung Pinang City at 0.34. While the highest deflation occurred in Pematang Siantar City by 0.76 percent.
Of the 90 cities that calculate CPI in Indonesia, 29 (twenty nine) cities experienced inflation and 61 (sixty one) cities deflation. The highest inflation occurred in Timika City at 1.45 percent. While the highest deflation occurred in the City of Manokwari by 1.09 percent.
