Abstract

The number of poor (people with per capita expenditure per month below the Poverty Line) in Jambi Province in March 2018 reached 281.69 thousand people (7.92 percent), decreased by 4.86 thousand people compared with the poor in March 2017 which amounted to 286.55 thousand people (8.19 percent).

 The percentage of poor people in urban areas in September 2017 of 10.53 percent decreased to 10.41 percent in March 2018. While the percentage of poor people in rural areas in September 2017 of 6.66 percent rose to 6.75 percent in March 2018.

 During March 2017-March 2018, the number of poor people in urban areas dropped by 2,000 from 120.62 thousand in March 2017 to 118.62 thousand people in March 2018. Similarly, in rural areas down 2,800 people from 165 , 93 thousand people in March 2017 to 163.07 thousand people in March 2018.
